American Focus

As the debate on future US policy in Iraq begins, we need to keep a critical point in the forefront. For whatever reason, or for whatever fraudulent and failed reason, the United States invaded and militarily toppled a sovereign government in Iraq. We are responsible for what occurs in Iraq day. In the midst of that chaos are our troops. God protect them and speed them home. When they arrive, we have a duty to welcome and help them. Let us hope the President has a change of heart and policy on deployment and Veteran’s health care cuts.

James Michael Curley
Boston, MA

Thank you for your insightful letter. It is true that even with the debate going on about how and why we are in Iraq, we must keep in mind that our troops are there risking themselves for their country, regardless of their feelings for our foreign policies.
